"I FLOAT" The Movie

This week Thor and some of his friends came up from Marseille. Thor who has become quite an accomplished magician and illusionist, gave us a demonstration on his ability to float. Well passed the French noise curfew, we decided to make a film. It made me think of my earlier films. Of course the title is 'I FLOAT". Notice in the bottom left hand corner the brilliant FX.

If you've ever tasted Monique's cooking, you have experience a treat. For example, Dylan and I would always be amazed at how marvelous her 'green beans' tasted. Well here's an example of one of her 'Vezenobres Quiches.'

'When one knows nothing, one is constantly surprised by everything.'
Chico Lennox

Both Monique and her brother Daniel have very expressive faces. Faces for film or Andrew Wyeth's eye. So far I've done one pencil drawing of Daniel, which I gave to his mother. And with Monique I haven't begun to mine this vein. Wes said she was my muse. 'Bien Sur' Women tend to be that more than men. I read a quote, or overheard it on one of the 'Charlie Rose' interviews, that men are healthier and live longer when they are in a good relationship with women. Women however do better when they are in the company of other women.

Here are just a couple of shots to go along with Monique's videos

One very early morning just before we left for the south of France, I went out to take some early morning photos. When I say early, I mean before the sun comes up. The kind of light at that time of day only lasts for a half an hour or so. I headed out in the dark. In the back of my mind I considered the fact that I might get mugged. There were still a lot of people out at 5.00am. My first series of photos featured a building called L'Opera de Lyon. Jean Nouvel, the aechitect who designed the tower in Barcelona(which we had seen in 2004) also won the competion to remodel the opera house in Lyon France. I don't know if his work is considered a blemish on the face of Lyon as some consider the famous glass pyramids in front of the Louvre, by I.M.Pei. Regardless, here are some photos of that time.

This new post is totally out of order. However you just gotta see where we get to spend the next nine months. We are in the south of France. In a wonderful converted barn. The morning sun comes in the windows like a kiss on the cheek, and the rest of the day actually sparkles. Monique has taken a movie of the place which I hope is not too long to load. We are very very happy. As far as the rest of the posts...later. Kent
